Physical Fitness leads to Better Health

Regular exercise can provide the basis for good health and wellness. The health, fitness, and medical experts now regard exercise, practiced on a regular basis, as essential for achieving and maintaining good health. Being physically fit does not guarantee you health.


However. exercise is an essential component of good health.Exercise is the basis for living a full life. It will help you bring your body, mind and spirit into action. The effort it takes for you to be physically fit will help you to discover the individual within yourself. I will come back to the importance of being physically fit. Let me tell you the change physical activity has had on my life.


Being Active despite being Physically Challenged

Firstly it is very important to be active when you are physically challenged for example being in a wheelchair like I am. My activities include going to the gym, swimming and physiotherapy. The enjoyment I get from them is enormous and they help me to a great extent in getting motivated.
















Nothing makes me more excited than having a good swim, which gives me a sense of achievement. As mentioned previously by me, when I see non-handicapped people unable to swim and comparatively I see myself being able to swim without any discomfort, despite of having a disability makes me feel very satisfied and motivation.

As motivation comes from setting of goals and is that aspect of having goals which makes exercise so much more fun and enjoyable for me. Some of the goals include setting a certain number of laps to be done on the day while swimming, doing a certain number of weights or doing a particular number of rounds in walking.

Losing Weight and getting Lighter

The most important goal for me while exercising is to lose weight and become lighter. The lighter I am the easier it will be for other people to handle me. It will be most beneficial for me when I go on vacations, as it will become easier for my parents to handle me with ease.

Losing weight on the whole does have an effect one’s lifestyle to quite an extent which is particularly good and advantageous for me. Putting on weight is very easy and losing weight on the other hand is quite a tough task. We can see in Pakistan the importance of doing some sort of exercise is not considered a must.

People going to the office tend to spend long hours at work and keep sitting at their desks till late in the evening. They get tired and mentally exhausted for any physical activity and tend to forgo it. We also see people sitting at home becoming couch potatoes while, watching movies tending to munch on something like popcorn or candies. This in turn easily leads to an increase in weight which can result in having some sort of heart disease.


People are getting more Health Conscious in Pakistan

It is very important to include some sort of physical activity in your daily routine. Even though one may exercise for only 15 minutes in a day, it will help you to feel good about yourself. Majority of the people going to office complain of not having time as their main excuse. I firmly believe that for exercise one has to find the time, just as you do for having lunch.

More and More People Realise the Importance of Fitness

Over the years I have seen an increase in the number of people coming to the gym in Sindh Club. This is definitely a good sign to see more people exercising in Pakistan, which also means that people are becoming more health conscious. It may be also due to watching fitness programs on television that enable people to get inspired to exercise more.Let me get back to some of the advantages of fitness.

Exercise and Live Longer

A minimal amount of exercise tends to lower the risk of premature death from heart disease, cancer and other health-related causes. Moderate exercise seems to be adequate for helping you to live longer and live life at your fullest potential. But, being physically fit is more important than striving to live longer. Being physically fit is striving to live better. People exercise to maintain good physical appearance, have more energy to carry out daily tasks, sleep better, be able to eat nutritious foods without worrying about weight gain, improve their performance in a favorite sport or pastime, and, enjoy the feeling of being physically fit and possessing good health.

Live Everyday to Your Fullest Capacity

Physical fitness is not getting by in life, it is about living every day to your fullest capacity. This goal is within the reach of anyone who educates themselves regarding fitness. Fitness exercise is for everyone. If you’ve had unhappy experiences in athletics or physical education in the past, take heart. Not having the ability to be a great athlete isn’t what is important, reaching a point where you become the best YOU can be, is.


Motivation is important in Exercise

We can see that maintaining physical fitness in your body is of critical necessity in your life. You can definitely enjoy life to it’s fullest by keeping fit. It will include some sacrifices, but you cannot achieve anything in life by not giving up something. It may be tough in the beginning, but the results in the end will show you how much worth your effort was.

Exercise and Motivation

I have also realized that motivation does play a big role in exercising. We need to set goals before we start our exercise, and that way we will enjoy what we are doing and will not consider it a burden. Always remember that fir people tend to feel good about themselves.
